Under gorgeous blue skies with the picture perfect Whistler Mountains providing the backdrop, Saturday marked the final stage for the BC Bike Race. Lopes (Oakley/Ibis/ENVE/Kenda) flashed a high-wattage grin with arms in full stretch, as he greeted the finish line in the Olympic Plaza, his excitement was contagious.

Whistler, BC- Just when you think the times can’t get any faster, a new standard is set. Lopes went on today to break his 2010 time of 4:15 for the Crankworx.comAir DH, crossing the finish line at 4:14.28, earning him a commendable 2nd place.

Last night Crankworxs kicked-off their annual 10-day Whistler bike festival with the Fat Tire Criterium. Lopes feeling fit and strong having come off the BC Bike Race put on a show for the crowd that gathered around the Village, preserving his “winning” Crankworxs legacy with another first place finish.
